Course Description

This course prepares students for workplace success in the twenty-first century by developing essential “soft skills” such as leadership, teamwork, communication, decision-making, and professional ethics. Students will explore career options, engage in job shadowing, build a professional portfolio, and practice balancing work, family, and community responsibilities. Instruction will include hands-on experiences with current technology and workplace tools.

Classroom Policies

  1. Attendance: Consistent attendance is required for participation in team projects and presentations.
    1. Deadlines: Late work is accepted only with prior approval.
    1. Respect: Maintain professional, respectful behavior toward all classmates and staff.
    1. Technology: Devices must be used for class-related activities only.

Special Activities

• Job Shadowing Experience – Observation and reflection on a workplace setting.

• Mock Interviews – Practice interview skills with feedback.

• Portfolio Showcase – Presentation of completed portfolio at the end of the course.
